WARNING: There have been reports this may screw your N800 up, so I’d backup before installing, just in case.
Rotate the N800 screen to landscape or portrait mode by using the power on button or if you have a N810 when the slide opens or closes.

Install using the .install file and then once installed, open the oss-xterm and run:
sudo gainroot
/root/install-xrandr-kernel
I’ve also added rotate-sb-plugin to my N800 which is a statusbar applet to set screen rotation in whatever orientation you want, left, right, upside down or normal without having to press the power on button.
NOTE: If you still want to use the power on button, just press it twice and the Device Mode menu appears.
